Israel's "Oz" immigration inspector unit accused of raiding Tel Aviv church in search of illegal immigrants. IAC president, Prof. Avrum Ehrlich: "Israel's policy on illegal residents unnecessarily alienates potential foreign workers. Israel could do better by crafting a 'win-win' policy for foreign residency in the State. By leveraging foreign workers' language skills, home networks, their bravery and proximity to the Tel Aviv CBD, a problematic situation can be turned into lasting opportunities to develop partnership programs, business and cultural bridges with foreign nations. Cultivating Israel's sorely lacking knowledge of Asian and African regions while maintaining the dignity of workers and refugees is preferable over present ill conceived policy".
